First & Last Chance Bar League Champions
The First & Last Chance Bar wrapped up the Sheldon Horseshoe League with a super night of pitching on July 21. They snatched all three games from Sandoun Saloon 136 to 109, 156 to 112 and 137 to 96, to win the title of League Champions. Albo Lere topped his highest game on record, a 72 with 36% ringers and a high series of 192. Scotty Bauman, I believe, hit his high game, also a 53 with 24% ringers and a series of 145. Dean Baasch held just under his average, just enough to win. Sandoun had only one pitcher over his average, that was Tim Woodbury over by 14 points.
Page Body Shop played Maple River Barber Shop and won all three games from the Barber team, which dropped them to the second place standing, and the Body Shop team came up to third place. Angie Meyer was a sub for the Body Shop and had all three games over her average by 7-13 and 19 points, which gave the Body Shop a lift and Shelly Hanson had her best night with games 10-10- and 19 over her average. The Barber Shop team was throwing about their average, except Collin Trangsrud on two games was 12 and 11 points over his average.
Bobcat paired up with Riverside Building Center, with Riverside winning the first game 212 to 205, then Bobcat took over on the second and third games winning 217 to 181 and 207 to 202. Kenny Bartl shot his highest game, a 97 with 52% ringers and a series of 269 on the second game, and Owen Trangsrud was a sub for Bobcat and had 2 games 6 and 7 points over his average with a 193 series.
Hogness Construction and Dakota Hills Electric had close games, with the Construction team taking all three, 93 to 81, 109 to 95 and 110 to 100. Both teams had some games over their average. For Dakota Hills Electric the high game was 44 by Chris Hegseth and for Hogness Construction it was by Kevin Bonogofsky a 42.
This ended the league play, some wanted to play something just for fun for two weeks, so there will be some playing a one on one type games on July 28th and August 4th. The 100% handicap tournament will be held Sunday August 8th at 2 P.M. at the Sheldon Courts with a potluck to follow.
