Happenings At Your Museum...
By Susan Schlecht,
Museum Co-Director
The Enderlin Histroical Museum received a grant to digitize archives through Digital Horizons. Digital Horizons was established in 2007 by a consortium including: Concordia College Archives, Moorhead, MN; NDSU Institute for Regional Studies & University Archives, Fargo, ND; Prairie Public Broadcasting, Fargo, ND; and State Historical Society of North Dakota, Bismarck, ND.
Digital Horizons provides, maintains, and preserves a wide range of historical and significant content related to North Dakota and Minnesota. This project creates teaching, learning, and researching opportunities for life-long learning.
The purpose of the grants is to creat open-access digital resources for research, instruction, and personal enrichment, developing and maintaining a digital library infrastructure, and partnering on projects with other institutions that will benefit all parties
You can view some of the 100 items that have been uploaded to the Digital Horizons site by going to the following website: http://www.digitalhorizonsonline.org/ Type Enderlin in the search area. Click on each picture and you will see a close up picture which shows all the data about the picture including names if available.
Also, try typing in your last name or your Enderlin ancestors last name in the search area to see if they are on any of the pictures. Along with the items entered from our Museum, you may find items pertaining to our city or people entered from somewhere else. To view the original items scanned in Enderlin, please stop by your Museum!
